LOOM ARMCHAIR— 2015

Based on the shapes, colours and tools of the backstrap looms used by women in Timor Leste to weave the traditional 'Tais'. The chair connects the simple elegance of mid-century design with the workmanship, traditions and materials of East Timorese crafts.

Materials have been carefully chosen to have minimal impact on Timor Leste’s environment and to support long-term social and economic development for East Timorese locals.
